Trader Joe’s Hawaiian Style Hickory Barbeque Potato Chips

I happily ended up trying TJ’s Hawaiian Style Hickory Barbecue Potato chips when our go to chip, TJ’s Potato Chips with South African Style Seasoning was discontinued. In a way I’m glad they were discontinued only because it led me to an even better chip.

The Hawaiian Style chip is a great blend of BBQ and sweetness. These chips are thicker and much closer to a kettle style chip. They are a little greasy, but hey it is a potato chip after all.

I bought a bag of Hawaiian Luau BBQ Kettle Style Potato Chips to compare and while I don’t know if the same company makes the TJ’s version they are a very different chip. The TJ’s chips are much sweeter while the Luau chips are much heaver on the paprika flavor. I prefer the sweetness of the TJ’s.

These chips are fantastic with sandwiches, picnics and of course summer BBQ’s!

Ingredients: unpeeled potatoes, vegetable oil (safflower and/or sunflower and/or canola oil), honey powder (dried cane syrup, honey), rice flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, yeast extract, tomato powder, paprika, torula yeast, garlic powder, chili pepper, citric acid, cayenne pepper, paprika extract (color), natural smoke flavor.
