I happily ended up trying TJ’s Hawaiian Style Hickory Barbecue Potato chips when our go to chip, TJ’s Potato Chips with South African Style Seasoning was discontinued. In a way I’m glad they were discontinued only because it led me to an even better chip.
The Hawaiian Style chip is a great blend of BBQ and sweetness. These chips are thicker and much closer to a kettle style chip. They are a little greasy, but hey it is a potato chip after all.
I bought a bag of Hawaiian Luau BBQ Kettle Style Potato Chips to compare and while I don’t know if the same company makes the TJ’s version they are a very different chip. The TJ’s chips are much sweeter while the Luau chips are much heaver on the paprika flavor. I prefer the sweetness of the TJ’s.
These chips are fantastic with sandwiches, picnics and of course summer BBQ’s!
